Located in central Victoria, Australia Bendigo is the third largest regional city in Victoria. Bendigo is renound for it's magnificent ornate buildings in a late Victorian style, and many of these buildings are registered by the National Trust of Australia. Perhaps the most famous example of the cities ornate buildings is the Sacred Heart Cathedral, which is one of the largest cathedral in the southern hemisphere in Australia. The city is skirted by Rosalind Park, a stylish victorian park. Bendigo draws in tourists for it's renound central Deborah Goldmine, Discovery Science and Technology Centre and the Bendigo tramways. The Bendigo Art Gallery was founded in 1887 and is one of Australia's largest regional art galleries. In 2003 the Bendigo Art Gallery started to host the Arthur Guy Memorial Prize, which is worth $50,000, Australia's richest painting prize. Bendigo hosts the National Swap Meet every year in early November. A must for all car enthusiasts, it is regarded as the biggest in the southern hemisphere, and attracts people from all over Australia and the world.
